Abstract

In this study, we propose a VR (Virtual Reality) system-based user motion recognition that can provide a real fire evacuation experience based on the user's motion recognition. The proposed VR system consists of HMD that can provide visual and auditory information, a motion recognition controller that is worn on the user's chest and thighs and recognizes the user's upper and lower body movements, a leap motion sensor that recognizes the user's hand motion, and a 3D virtual environment in which a fire situation is implemented. This system enables users to experience the fire situation that the user can use directly in real life as if the user directly controls it, and is expected to provide a more immersive fire evacuation experience.
