Abstract

In this study, we propose a VR (Virtual Reality) based interaction system for the smelt fishing experience that can provide the user with the realistic and immersive experience of a smelt fishing. The proposed system consists of an HMD, a VR controller, and a virtual environment. The HMD provides the visual and auditory information, and a VR controller with the shape of the real smelt fishing rod gives the haptic information to the user. A virtual environment is implemented with the realistic smelt fishing environment and related situations. This system enables the user's immersive smelt fishing experience by providing visual, auditory and haptic feedback suitable for various smelting fishing situations.
