Abstract

We present a demonstration of virtual keyboard operation based on electromyography from fingers movement. We test human arm surfaces corresponding to each finger motion, and then EMG sensors are located on the surfaces. The raw EMG signals generated from our protocol for virtual keyboard are filtered through a homemade electric circuit. A LabVIEW program is used to measure and handle the EMG signals. After the analog signal is converted into digital signal, which is input to Arduino board, the board displays the letters from the virtual keyboard to computer monitor. This demonstration is successful after a training session to the protocol.
