Abstract

This study presents a learning design framework for virtual reality-based vocational training which focuses on the skill required for a particular job function. We derive a conceptual content design framework through a comprehensive literature review and Delphi method. As a components of the framework for designing virtual reality-based vocational training, immersion, presence, subject matter, a guider and facilitation, an input device, and an output device were finally confirmed. The VR based immersive training system not only strengthens interactivity bur also, increases users' immersion and presence, and furthermore it is useful for applying non-face-to-face experiential learning contents. The proposed framework plays a role in enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of VR-based training.
