Abstract

This study proposes a sensor that can measure weight by combining the properties of a spring and TENG. When a weight is applied and a spring compresses, friction will occur in a system and because of this friction, an electricity will be generated in the surrounding TENG. The applied weight can be calculated by analyzing the amount of triboelectric output. Experiments in various environments are conducted to verify the role of the sensor in different weight ranges. By these experiments, it will represent a different mechanism from existing weight measuring system and various applications.
